25 DOGS REPORTED TO BE KILLED BY POISONING AT MAPPILA BAY, KANNUR, KERALA ON 09 OCT 2015.
Offence: Killing of approximately 25 dogs by poisoning. Unlawful & illegal as per IPC Sections 428 & 429, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (11 Dogs). Also please note that as evident from the attached photograph, killing of dogs was done by poisoning.
Date of Offence: Night of 09 Oct 2015 – early morning if 10 Oct 2015
Location: Mappila Bay, Kannur. To go to the spot, proceed towards Angelo’s Fort, just before the fort, take the road going towards left to the Fisheries Dept. Enter the gate & go straight down towards Mappila Bay.
Evidence: Bodies laying at the location specified below. One photograph of the bodies attached. More evidences anticipated shortly.
Actionable: I have filed a complaint with the Dy SP, Circle Inspector & SHO Kannur Town with a copy to DGP Kerala & SP Kannur. May I urge each one of you to please use all your resources to (a) stop this cruel mass killing from spreading (b) report this offence by email; complaints filed by emails are legally accepted & registered as FIRs post preliminary investigation.
Meanwhile, a different incident of killing by poisoning that took place on 09 Oct 2015 has also been reported from Ernakulam, Kochi too. Aishwarya is working on evidence collection & reporting of this – will be shared separately after initiating action.
